After several months of negotiations, acting EEKR president
Dave Brigati has secured a WKA national event at Riverhead
Raceway for October 11, 2009. In prior years, a regional
Northeast Pavement Series took place, attracting many
out-of-state competitors. The National event will assuredly
attract even larger crowds of the best karters from around the
country. To their advantage, Long Island competitors will have
track experience behind them as they defend their home turf for
national glory.
Additionally, the EEKR will once again hold a few money races
over the course of the 2009 EEKR season. Dates have yet to be
announced.
