This week, organizers of the Race And Collect Earnings (R.A.C.E..)
Drive Fund put in place for Riverhead Raceway weekly
competitors, unveiled the decals that will be available
beginning Opening Night to those who chose to participate in the
fund. The decals, designed by Racing Creations, will be
displayed on the cars of those who take part. The fund is
available to those in the Modified, Late Model, Charger,
Blunderbust, Super Pro Truck, and Figure Eight divisions.
Drivers in the eligible divisions will be given the option to
participate, at a cost of $20 per driver. All drivers will be
given two weeks to “buy in”. That money will go into the
individual division’s point fund. Additional monies will be
raised throughout the course of the season through 50/50 raffles
and other fundraisers. The first fundraiser for the fund, a
bowling party/Chinese auction held during the offseason, was
highly successful. A Casino Night-themed fundraiser is scheduled
for Sunday, July 12th at Lily Flanigan’s in East Islip from 2
p.m. until 6 p.m. Tickets for the event are $25 each, and must
be paid for in advance.
