Saturday night June 13th Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara
and Jim Cromarty will host their annual salute to law
enforcement by hosting the New York State Fraternal Order of
Police night along with a special Flag Day Celebration. A full
card of NASCAR Whelen All American Series racing will also be
complimented by the annual East End Kart Racing exhibition.
The New York State Fraternal Order of Police night has become a
popular attraction at Riverhead Raceway and once again some 20
police agencies from all across Long Island will be on hand for
the on track presentation. With Flag Day on Sunday a Flag Day
Celebration will also be part of the night's festivities.
On the NASCAR Whelen All American Series card the Figure Eights
will compete in their second of three 25-lap, double point
events in 2009 and be joined by the NASCAR Modifieds, Late
Models and Blunderbusts. As spring turns to summer the
championship fight in all four classes will start to take shape
during the month of June.
Dave Brigati, president of the East End Kart Racing and his
loyal karters will once again showcase their talents in front of
the Saturday night NASCAR competitors and fans with the EEKR
organization having divisions from Kid Karts right up and
through to the Senior Heavy Champ Karts.
Qualifying for the divisions that need it will start at 4:30 pm
and feature event racing will go green at 6:00 pm.
Then on Sunday the second doubleheader weekend of the 2009
season will unfold June 14th will a busy matinee of racing. The
Super Pro Trucks and Legend Race Cars will join a full slate of
Enduro racing and One On One Spectator Drags starting at 12:30
pm. The Grand Enduros will headline the show and be joined by
the 8, 6 and 4-Cylinder Enduros plus a 4/6-Cylinder Truck
Enduro.
