In their 33-years of promoting NASCAR stock car racing and
family entertainment events on Long Island, Riverhead Raceway's
Barbara & Jim Cromarty have a reputation of doing things in a
big way and for Saturday July 4th the couple has announced the
biggest and best Independence Day spectacular will be presented
at Riverhead Raceway.
Once again the Cromarty's have enlisted the services of award
winning pyrotechnic firm Bay Fireworks to light-up the night sky
over the track and everyone should note this Fireworks
spectacular will be the way race fans on Long Island have been
accustomed to over the years. You won't be able to take your
eyes off the sky as the experts at Bay Fireworks keep the
showing pumping with accompanying patriotic music highlighting
this breathtaking display.
NASCAR stock car racing is as "Americana" as it gets and a full
slate of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing will be on
tap, featuring the Cromarty Cup 50 for the NASCAR Modifieds. The
600-horsepower machines will jet around the quarter mile oval
within 12 seconds per lap and race for double points. The "death
defying" Figure Eight competitors will be testing their skills
and bravery at the "X" intersection, which they'll have to cross
40-times in their 20-lap main event. Completing the stock car
portion of the show will be Charger and Blunderbust racing with
a 6-Cylinder Enduro also set for action.
As if all that excitement weren't enough, a Police Car
Demolition Derby will conclude the Independence Day Spectacular
at Riverhead Raceway, as this event has become one of the more
popular Demolition Derby contests of the season.
Time trials for the NASCAR Modifieds will start qualifying at
4:30 pm and feature event racing will go green at 6:00 pm. For a
complete guide to the track log onto
