Figure Eight Course
Awaits Full Size School Buses
At Riverhead June 27th

The demanding and at times treacherous Figure Eight course at
Riverhead Raceway will get a heavy workout on Saturday June 27th
when the Full Size School Bus Figure Eight race is presented.
Promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty will also present a full card
of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing, a 4-Cylinder Enduro
and a Car Rollover Contest.
The Full Size School Bus Figure Eight race comes just one day
after school districts across Long Island close for summer
recess and this show has become known as the "schools out for
summer" celebration. Of course the kids roar with delight when
the School Buses negotiate the tricky Figure Eight course, but
take a closer look at the reaction from the adults in the stands
and you'll notice a smile upon their faces as well.
The NASCAR Modifieds will highlight the NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series program with a 35-lap main event on tap for
the 600 horsepower racers and joining them will be the Chargers,
Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks who'll all race in 20-lap
feature events.
The wild and wacky Car Rollover Contest will make its Saturday
night debut June 27th with defending champion Joe Marko of
Lindenhurst scoring the victory in the first such event over
Memorial Day weekend. Each competitor gets three chances at the
ramp which they hit with their right side tires and depending
upon where the car lands points are awarded.
The stand alone Saturday night Enduro racing returns on the card
with a 4-Cylinder Enduro set for action and fans should keep
their eyes on these compact cars who travel the quarter miles a
great neck speeds.
With school officially out for the summer there's no better way
to mark the occasion with a night at Riverhead Raceway Saturday
June 27th with a perfect blend of NASCAR stock car racing and
family entertainment, all at very reasonable prices and close to
home.
