Riverhead Trucks To Take
To The Track At Bethel June 27th
This Saturday, when the gates open at Bethel Motor Speedway,
among those heading into the track's pit area will be a number
of Riverhead Raceway 4/6 cylinder enduro truck competitors.
Bethel promoters Dave and Joanne Rocket have added the division
to the schedule for the June 27th show. Also on the schedule for
John Marcinak Memorial Night are the Sportsman, BMS Modified,
ECS Auto Stores Pro Stock, Street Stock and 4 Cylinder classes.
They will be joined by the INEX-sanctioned Legends and
Bandoleros, as well as the vintage dirt modifieds that were
rescheduled from June 13th.
Among the competitors who have expressed their intent to compete
is Kevin Nowak, who will be doing double-duty in both his
Legends car and his truck. Nowak has turned plenty of laps at
Bethel this season, competing in the majority of scheduled races
the Legends have had so far in 2009. Also competing will be Jeff
Gregor, who has registered tremendous success piloting his truck
in the "Trophy Truck" class at Sundance Vacations Speedway.
Current Riverhead 4/6 cylinder enduro truck point leader John
Cozza, a former Blunderbust division champion who scored the
Grand Enduro championship in 2008, will also be among the
competitors. Bobby Pease, the 2007 Grand Enduro champion, is
expected to trailer his enduro truck to Bethel as well. Joining
the mix will be Chris Chirico, a former Blunderbust champion who
will be behind the wheel of Tracy Chirico's truck for the event.
Joe Parcelluzzi, who scored his first Grand Enduro victory in
2008 and scored two top five finishes in the trucks at Riverhead
in 2007, will also be making the trip. Bryan Kelly, who
currently sits seventh in points at Riverhead, has also
confirmed his plans to attend. Also competing will be Greg
Harris and James Badalato, both of whom currently sit just
outside the top ten in Riverhead points.
The trucks will draw for their starting position in the race,
which is scheduled to be a 40-lap affair.
Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m., with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and
racing slated to begin at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is just
$5. Directions to the track, additional details, and a full
schedule are available at
