Pop Fuzion Powers the VooDoo CaDoo

Last year, Seaford Manor’s Russ Kohler offered free sponsorship on the No. 99 VooDoo CaDoo Blunderbust, which he shared with Rich Aquino. The concept was simple – bring your sticker and the VooDoo CaDoo bunch will place it on the car wherever you would like as long as it didn’t cover any other sponsor. For one sponsor, the offer provided a good icebreaker, as Pop Fuzion has agreed to sponsor the team in 2009.

“Some called me crazy while others told me, ‘I needed a check up from the neck up,” said driver Russ Kohler. “Many asked, ‘What was the catch?’ I said, ‘There was none. I’ll take donations for fuel, tires, etc., but there’s no catch, plain and simple.’”

Initially taking up Kohler’s offer were Scorpion Race Engines, Stolen 1 Racing, Sterling Management, and a few others. However, a year later, Pop Fuzion liked the idea so much, that they offered to help fund Kohler’s racing habit.

“Charles Costa, owner of Pop Fuzion, said he would love to sponsor someone with such a great incentive.” Kohler said. “He has a new product and was looking for inexpensive advertisement. After a couple of meetings, Pop Fuzion agreed to cover my costs at the track and I can’t thank him enough.”

Pop Fuzion produces a line of sparkling water beverages with flavor tops. The two “fuze” together producing an explosion of flavors blending right in your mouth. For more information visit www.drinkfuzion.com .

Russ Kohler is a seasoned motorsports veteran, with experience in the former NASCAR Busch North Series, SCCA Northeast Iron, SCCA road racing, GT-1, and NHRA Pro Street. Kohler joined Riverhead (N.Y.) Raceway’s Blunderbust ranks in 2007, and looks forward to returning in 2009 to the quarter-mile bullring with Pop Fuzion on his side.
