Mother Nature Moves NELMA
to Sun. Oct. 25
With bad weather imminent, NELMA, in
coordination with Sundance Vacations Speedway, has decided to
postpone their Saturday event and use their rain date of Sunday,
Oct. 25. In addition, NELMA Night at Damon’s in Hazleton, Pa.
has been cancelled, but racers and fans are to welcome to come
at the scheduled 5PM-9PM time tonight, Fri. Oct. 23, to mingle.
The weatherman is predicting a beautiful day for Sunday, which
will make the experience for NELMA fans and racers ever more
enjoyable. The Hazleton Rat Rod Festival and Automotive Swap
Meet will also carry over to Sunday, still running from
10AM-2PM.
“It was a difficult decision, but it was the right one,” said
NELMA promoter, J.A. Ackley. “The whole premise behind our show
is to save racers and fans money, and there’s no reason for us
to drag them out on a rainy day. Our supporters deserve the
best, and we’ll give them that on Sunday, Oct. 25.”
Despite the weather situation, the best late model, Legends car,
and street stock racers are coming from all corners of the
Northeast to NELMA, the premier stock car racing event now to be
held on Sun., Oct. 25 at Sundance Vacations Speedway in St.
Johns, Pa. And, for a grandstand admission of only $10 (kids 10
and under are free), you’ll enjoy three divisions with fierce
competition from all corners of the Eastern Seaboard – the NELMA
Late Model Challenge, WPW Equipment Rental Legends Car Fall
Classic, and the NELMA Street Stock Fender Fury – along with the
preceding inaugural Hazleton Rat Rod Festival and Automotive
Swap Meet (10AM-2PM) – which is making Sunday, October 25 at
Sundance Vacations Speedway in St. Johns, Pa. a worthy
mid-Autumn venture. For competitors, pits open at 10 AM, with
practice beginning at 12 noon. For NELMA fans, grandstands will
open at 12 noon.
