Riverhead Pre-Season
Technical Inspections - April 3 & 10
During the recent Riverhead Raceway
Competitors' winter meetings Riverhead Raceway co-chief stewards
Mike Cappiello & Jim Maggio announced the two pre-season
technical inspections would be on Saturday April 3rd and and
Saturday April 10th starting at 9:00 am weather permitting.
Competitors in both the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series as
well as the Enduro divisions should make every attempt to make
one of these two dates as no car will be permitted on the track
on the practice days without going through safety tech. Walter
Bonczyk and his NASCAR Inspectors will be on hand bright and
early both April 3rd and 10th to do safety inspections and if
the weather is favorable will seal race engines as well. Aside
from the racecars the inspectors also want drivers to bring
their fire suits and helmets along with other safety equipment
to be checked out.
Riverhead Raceway will host two pre-season practice days
Saturday April 17th and April 24th starting at 12:00 noon each
day with free grandstand admission for spectators. The pit area
on both those dates will open at 9:00 am and the safety
technical inspection will begin at that point for those who
missed out on the inspection dates April 3rd and 10th.
The NASCAR stock cars will practice from 12:00 noon until around
4:00 pm when the track will be turned over to the Enduro drivers
to shake down their equipment for 2010.
