Pepitone Pledges Support
to Buttner Cause
Riverhead Raceway Blunderbust racer Matt
Pepitone, the self-professed Clown Prince of Racing, plans to
pledge his 2010 winnings to six-year-old Julianna Buttner who
has a rare form of leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant.
In addition, Pepitone, a stand-up comedian, will be a part of
Comedy for a Cause: Hope for Julianna at Ladakins on Mill Pond
in Moriches on Weds. Feb. 24 and Mar. 3, where 100% of the
admission collected will go toward Buttner’s transplant.
Last November, 2,600 people lined up in a bone marrow drive in
Farmingville to become a potential donor for Julianna, but to no
avail. However, a match was found later – her twin sister
Jessica, who is willing to endure the painful procedure to save
her sister’s life. Now the search goes on to raise funds for the
costly procedure.
Matt Pepitone, who steers his self-sponsored No. 17 Blunderbust
weekly during the summer Saturday nights at Riverhead Raceway,
is pledging his support to Buttner’s cause by donating his
entire 2010 winnings. In addition, he’s using his talent for
humor to raise funds for this serious condition.
On Weds. Feb. 24 and Mar. 3, Pepitone and others will be taking
part of Comedy for a Cause: Hope for Julianna, hosted at
Ladakins on Mill Pond, located at 714 Montauk Highway in
Moriches. Admission is $10, all of which goes directly to the
cause. Reservations are encouraged, which you can arrange by
calling 631-878-1919.
Please join Pepitone and the Buttner cause and help six-year-old
Julianna overcome this dreadful disease.
