Freddie Kraft Spot-On
With Historic NASCAR K&N Pro Series Victory
When Freddie Kraft posted the following
status update on Facebook on Friday, March 19, 2010 - “Going
into 2010, for the first time ever, I’m going to the track
confident we can win every race we go to” - little did he know
this would be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Originally, Kraft planned to spot for SK modified driver
Shawn Solomito at Waterford (Conn.) Speedbowl on March 27, but that
all changed when Kraft received a call from Andy Santerre,
competition director for Revolution Racing's NASCAR K&N Pro
Series East team, who offered Kraft an opportunity to spot
full-time for this season. For Kraft, it was a dream come true
and he quickly credited his friend Mike Herman for making it
happen. In his first outing, Freddie Kraft would not disappoint.
On March 27, at Greenville Pickens (S.C.) Speedway, Kraft's
Facebook status was spot-on - as his first spotting gig landed
Darrell Wallace Jr. into the history books as the first African
American and youngest driver ever to win in the NASCAR K&N Pro
Series.
Tune in to Speed Channel this Thursday,
April 1 at 6 p.m. to see history in the making.
