Sixty Drivers Compete in LIKA's Season Opener

The Long Island Karting Association, LIKA, opened the 2010 race season on Sunday April 18th, 2010. The Long Island Karting Association is a go kart racing club which maintains a temporary road course facility on the grounds of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. Club members race against each other in high performance go karts. Competitors can start driving as young as 5 yr old in 50cc 2-cycle engines. Sunday’s race had 60 drivers competing in 10 different classes, with some drivers registered in multiple classes. The typical race day consists of multiple practice sessions in the morning, followed by a qualifying session at mid day and two races in the afternoon. Our next event is Sunday, May 2nd at the Nassau Coliseum.
