Announces 2010 Victory Lane Trophy Sponsors
Riverhead Raceway officials
announced today that three corporate sponsors have stepped-up to
serve as 2010 victory lane trophy sponsors for the NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series, the INEX Legend Race Cars and Enduro
divisions. Riverhead swings into action with a doubleheader
weekend Saturday May 1st at 5:00 pm and again Sunday May 2nd at
12:30 pm.
Jimmy Wichert of Unique Golf will once again provide feature
event winners in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with
victory lane trophies on nights when Riverhead Raceway or one of
its marketing partners doesn't. It is the second year that
Unique Golf, which has locations in Babylon Village and at the
driving range of Oakdale, provides the victory lane trophies.
Wichert, who owns the Late Model of popular "Mighty" Mike
Mortimer and races himself in the 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduros has
long been known as a friend to the racer at Riverhead and will
continue in that role in 2010.
CARQUEST Auto Parts of Long Island are returning for their third
season in sponsoring the victory lane trophies for all Enduro
races at Riverhead Raceway this year. CARQUEST will provide
trophies for all the Sunday winners and on the Saturday night
"stand alone" races will provide the top three in an Enduro with
a handsome trophy. Gene Burbol of Gene's 112 Auto Service, the
2009 6-Cylinder Enduro champion once again was instrumental in
the CARQUEST Auto Parts package.
Additionally Bob Finan of Riverhead noted that CARQUEST Auto
Parts has expressed interest in sponsoring a NASCAR Modified
feature event in July, further details will be announced
shortly.
Peter Clark through his Transportation Management Services firm
is returning to sponsor the victory lane trophies for the INEX
Legend Race Cars at Riverhead Raceway and will also field a car
in the class for newcomer George Baker Jr. Clark will award
podium style trophies to the top three of all Legend main events
this season.
All the warm-ups are finished and it's now time to get down to
business with opening weekend 2010 at Riverhead Raceway Saturday
May 1st with the NASCAR stock cars at 5:00 pm and Sunday May 2nd
at 12:30 with the Enduro racers taking center stage. For further
