LIKA Race No. 2
This Sunday
This Sunday, May 2nd is LIKA Race
# 2 and Race #1 of 3 for the Vanderbilt Race Series at the Long
Island Karting Association. Club and Non-club members who race
in the Vanderbilt Series are eligible for Series Awards at the
end of the season. So even if you are not a club member, come
down and race with us. The top three finishers in each of our
planned race series, will receive an award at the end of the
year. The top three finishers in all junior classes will receive
a trophy at the end of the day and will have their pictures
taken and be included in the club’s press release. All Kid Kart
drivers will receive a Participation Medal at the end of the day
as well.
We ask that you fill out the Race Day Entry Form prior to
arriving at the track. Race Day Entry forms can be downloaded
from our website,
www.LIKAOnline.com Exact change or a personal check for the
exact amount will also help speed the Registration process.
Track Setup will begin at approximately 7:30am.
Race Registration will open at approximately 8:00am and will
close once Qualifying begins.
Spectator Registration will remain open all day.
Practice sessions will begin around 9:30am
Qualifying will begin around midday.
There will be a brief engine break-in session between Qualifying
and Racing while the starting orders are posted.
Races will begin around 1:00pm. We plan to do a heat race and a
Main Event.
We will have our first General Club Meeting on Wednesday, May
5th at 7:00pm at Bertucci’s on Route 110 in Melville. Just a ¼
mile north of the Northern State Parkway. We will be ordering a
few Pizza’s and soda for the meeting. Be sure to come early
before the pizza is all gone. Once it’s gone you are on your own
for food…
