FOP Salute to
Law Enforcement Set for June 5 at Riverhead Raceway
Riverhead Raceway will once
again take time during its NASCAR Whelen All-American Series
program June 5th to salute the men and women of law enforcement
as Barbara & Jim Cromarty will present the annual New York State
Fraternal Order of Police night. Seven feature events will be
contested during the program featuring a 30-lap Charger main
event and the second Skid Plate Race of 2010.
The annual NYS Fraternal Order of Police night is a very popular
evening at Riverhead Raceway as nearly two dozen police
departments from Long Island, New York City and New York State
are presented during an on track parade and ceremony. The
various police agencies with lights flashing and sirens blazing
will take a lap or two around the track with the New York State
Fraternal Order of Police setting up an informational display in
turn three.
The Chargers will take center stage with time trial qualifying
to determine the field for their second 30-lap, double point
race of 2010. Joining the Chargers are the NASCAR Modifieds,
Figure Eights, Blunderbusts, Legend Race Cars, a 6-Cylinder
Enduro and the Skid Plate race. Time trials for the Chargers
will be at 5:00 pm with feature event racing scheduled for
6:00pm. Spectator gates open at 3:00 pm.
