Saturday evening,
June 12th, at Barbara and Jim Cromarty's Riverhead Raceway
another action packed card of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series
racing will
be presented. There will be five great divisions of racing along
with an
exhibition presented by the East End Kart Racing club and a
special Flag Day
celebration. The NASCAR Modifieds will headline the NASCAR
racing action
running in a 35-lap feature event.
The East End Kart
Racing organization, which runs on select Sunday
afternoons March through November at Riverhead Raceway, has
served as a
"feeder" system for over a quarter of the drivers who currently
race in the
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the 61-year old quarter
mile oval. The
EEKR has a wide variety of racing classes with everything from
Kid Karts to
the Senior Champ Karts for those 35-years old and over and its
membership
looks forward to this annual Saturday night event to showcase
their
equipment and talent.
After two weeks off
the Late Models will return to action at Riverhead
Raceway, running a 25-lap feature event joining the NASCAR
Modifieds.
Completing the five division card are the Chargers, Blunderbusts
and Super
Pro Trucks all of whom will compete in 20-lap feature events.
Spectators arriving
at Riverhead Raceway Saturday afternoon and evening will
be presented with an American Flag and during the course of the
program a
special Flag Day Celebration will be held.
Feature event racing
will start at 6:00 pm Saturday, June 12th, with the pit
gates opening at 1:30 pm. Practice and the opening of the
spectator gates
will take place at 3:00 pm.
