Rain Pushes
Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 Back One Week to July 17
Sometimes the best laid plans get
washed away and that is what happened Saturday at Riverhead
Raceway when heavy thundershowers in the afternoon with a
forecast for more through midnight forced postponement of the
Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 by Northeastern Office Equipment.
The race, which earlier in the year was moved up one week to
avoid conflict with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will now
actually run on its original date, this Saturday July 17th.
In fact the July 10th program
with two exceptions will shift to this Saturday July 17th,
including the 20-lap Figure Eight race, a double point affair
with the Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks now running this week
as well. One exception will be the Legends who, at the request
of INEX, will be cancelled because of a conflict in the National
Legend schedule. The Chargers will now be added but the Late
Models, originally slated to race July 17th, will get an
unwanted extra week off. However, the Late Models will be added
for July 24th. The Skid Plate Race and Grand Enduros are also
having their July 10th race moved to this week, with the
8-Cylinder Enduro set for July 17th shifting to the 24th.
The washout this past week was a
bitter disappointment to many as some very special plans were
put into place with no less than four of Charlie Jarzombek's
Modifieds planning to be on hand with some very special guest
pace lap drivers. Hopefully they can be part of this very
special race coming up this week on NASCAR Foundation Night.
Time trials for the NASCAR
Modifieds will be at 5:15 pm while feature racing starts at 6:00
pm this Saturday at Riverhead Raceway. For further information
