Coming to Riverhead's Night of Adventure August 7
The tradition of great family
entertainment blending in with the excitement of NASCAR stock
car racing will be fully evident Saturday evening August 7th at
Barbara & Jim Cromarty's Riverhead Raceway as the Night of
Adventure will be presented, featuring the first ever Long
Island appearance of Transaurus, Dinosaur of Destruction. The
fire eating, metal eating Transaurus will be joined by a Car
Rollover Contest and a 4-Cylinder Demolition Derby to complement
the stock car racing portion of the card.
Standing some 3 stories high and tipping
the scales at 39,000 pounds, Transarurs is one mean lady
ripping, chewing and eating anything that gets in her way and on
August 7th at Riverhead Raceway that will be a full sized
passenger car. Powered by 104 octane Jet A Propane, Transarurs
represents the acclaimed DARE program where ever she appears in
a never ending fight against illicit drugs. Children of all ages
will surely enjoy this very special attraction.
The Car Rollover Contest can only be
described as an event you have to see to believe. Each
competitor will have three attempts at a ramp set up off the
track apron in turn one. If the car lands on its driver's door,
one point is earned. A half a roll to the roof is worth two
points, passenger door is worth three and a complete roll is
worth five points. Fans will watch in amazement as these drivers
"get some air" trying to be victorious in the only Car Rollover
Contest being presented in 2010 at Riverhead Raceway.
In a last minute schedule change a bone
jarring, car destroying 4-Cylinder Demolition Derby will
complete the Night of Destruction. Demo point leader Jason
"Death Wish" Savoy and James "The Killa" Killkenny will be among
the drivers vying for the victory, joining them are Michael'
Krazy Kars" Wahl, Rich Fowler, Matt Mulqueen and many more. The
4-Cylinder Demolition Derby has become one of the most
competitive and exciting events at Riverhead as the compact cars
are able to taking a licking and keep on ticking.
The NASCAR Whelen All American Series
stocks cars will be headlined by the 600 horsepower NASCAR
Modifieds who will wrestle around the quarter mile in under
12-seconds per lap. The "World Famous" Figure Eight racers will
be in action as will the Chargers, Blunderbusts and a 4-Cylinder
Enduro.
Show time for the Night of Adventure
August 7th at Riverhad Raceway is 6:00 pm, with spectator gates
opening at 3:00 pm.
