Speedway in High Gear for LegendStock 2010
There are just over two weeks left
before LegendStock 2010 at Bethel Motor Speedway, and
preparations for the event have kicked into high gear.
Registration for the event opened several weeks ago, and many
drivers have taken advantage of the opportunity to pre-register
online through the web site at
www.legendstockshootout.com. Drivers from throughout the
Northeast and as far away as Minnesota and Texas have already
filed entries.
As has been the case since the inaugural LegendStock event in
2008, the race will pay $1,500 to win, with all of the division
winners taking home unique guitar-shaped trophies.
In addition to the normal prestige carried by the LegendStock
win, it has been announced that this year’s event will also be
an INEX Asphalt Nationals qualifier. As a result, the race
distance has been extended to 50 laps.
This year, the feature lineup will be determined using a points
system like that used at the Legends Nationals. Drivers will
receive points based on their qualifying laps, with the fastest
qualifier earning 200 points, with a two-point drop for each
position back through the field. Qualifying will be inverted for
the heat races. Drivers will then earn points for their heat
race finish, with the winner getting 100 points. Points will
drop three for each position for second through fifth, and two
points for each position from sixth through 15th. It will then
drop one point for each position from 16th back. The feature
lineup will be calculated based on each driver’s overall point
total.
Prior to the event, Legends will have a chance to get some seat
time, with a regular Legends feature slated for July 31st at
Bethel. Bethel’s full schedule is online at

In addition to the Legends event, Bethel will also be hosting
Bandoleros as part of LegendStock 2010. Last year’s Bandolero
winner was awarded a two-foot tall version of the same trophy
presented to the Legends division winners. The pit entry fee for
Bandolero drivers is being waived at Bethel for the 2010 season.
