NELMA & Sundance Vacations Speedway Team Up
with the Race Against Drugs
For racers, the biggest race of their lives involves the
thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. However, for many
people, their biggest race is not a battle between cars, but
instead a battle against drug dependency. In conjunction with
the RAD Racing Team, NELMA and Sundance Vacations Speedway will
play host to a group of recent Stay on Track graduates for the
annual NELMA blockbuster on Sat. Oct. 23, 2010 at Sundance
Vacations Speedway in St. Johns, Pa.
Stay on Track is the choice substance abuse prevention and life
skills curriculum for schools across the United States. Race
Against Drugs is a national network of positive role models that
are dedicated to helping America’s youth by volunteering their
time and resources to attend local community events, and develop
fundraising programs to assist with the design of promotional
items that convey the importance of making positive choices.
NELMA and Sundance Vacations Speedway are proud to play host for
a program that prides itself on "fueling a drug free future."
“For many, including I, racing was a positive outlet for someone
with lots of ambition and energy,” says NELMA promoter J.A.
Ackley. “When I approached Sundance Vacations Speedway promoter
Joe Callavini, he was enthusiastic for the good cause and agreed
that our event would be a perfect host for these kids.”
Sundance Vacations Speedway’s 2010 Late Model Champion, Justin
Onderko, is the track’s representative for Race Against Drugs.
Onderko has spent the past year as spokesperson for the program
and proved that you can have great success living a drug-free
lifestyle.
The Stay on Track graduates will experience an action-packed day
of racing and entertainment during NELMA’s annual event, the
premier stock car racing event held on Sat. Oct. 23 at Sundance
Vacations Speedway in St. Johns, Pa. The day features three
divisions with fierce competition from all corners of the
Eastern Seaboard – the NELMA Late Model Challenge, NELMA Legends
