David Pearson to Appear at Motorsports 2011

The driver that many consider the best to ever climb into a NASCAR stock car will be making an appearance at the Motorsports 2011 Presented by SEF Race Car and Trade Show.

David Pearson, known as “The Silver Fox,” put together an impressive record during his career which spanned 27 years running from 1960 through 1986.

The three time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, 1966, ‘68, ‘69, will be
part of the show activities at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in
Oaks, Penna. on Saturday, January 22nd. Pearson will meet with fans
from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.

The three day Motorsports show runs from Friday, January 2lst through
Sunday, January 23rd.

Pearson was just recently voted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame getting
the most votes of those making up the second class of five that will
be inducted into the Hall in May, 2011. Many felt he should have made
it as part of the first class of five.

“Having David Pearson as part of the show is just amazing,” said
show organizer Len Sammons. “He had such an impressive record when he
was racing and still has such a huge following that we feel fortunate
to be able to have him appear at the show for the first time.”

At age 76 (as of December 22nd) the Spartansburg, SC native still
looks as if he could climb into a race car today and be a factor at
the finish.

Pearson was able to win 105 Cup races during his career and is
second on the all time win list to Richard Petty’s 200.

Amazing is the fact that Pearson spent so many years in NASCAR Cup
competition and never ran a full season. In 1974 he finished third in
the final standings but only drove in 19 of the 30 races on the
schedule.

Pearson should have some interesting stories to tell when he appears
at the Motorsports 2011 Presented by SEF Race Car and Trade Show.
Additional announcements about appearances by major racers and
personalities in the sport will be made in the future.

Exhibit space for the show continues to fill at a record space and
everyone is reminded to be in touch with Tim Hogue to make their show
space reservations before the show has all 250,000 square feet spoken
for.

Also race teams are reminded that if they are planning to have their
race cars on display and gain some excellent exposure for their
sponsors in front of the thousands of show attendees they should be in
touch with Hogue to make arrangements. Hogue can be reached at
609.888.3618 or Tim@aarn.com.
