Interesting Growing
for Long Island Automotive Swap Shop Dec. 3
Since announcing the return of the Long
Island Automotive Swap Shop to
Riverhead Raceway on December 3rd the swirl of interest is
starting to
grow according to promoter Bob Finan. The race car and race car
parts flea
market will take place in the pit area of the Route 58 oval from
10:00 am
until 4:00 pm on December 3rd, the first time the swap shop has
ever been
staged on a Saturday.
"I'm hearing from some folks that have started to get equipment
they'd
like to sell together" Bob noted, "many Long Island teams have
just
completed racing for the year and now can focus on what they
would like to
sell. From what some have told me they'll be pricing their
complete race
cars and related parts at prices too good to turn down, they
don't want to
have to unload this stuff back into the shop".
Among those Finan has heard from via e-mail are Rob Bader and
Brandon
Hubbard from the Blunderbust ranks, Kevin Strumpf, who will be
staging a
clearance sale on his Legend Race car equipment, JTL Enterprises
who has
both BB and Figure Eight equipment and Pete Sindone who has a
wide
assortment of inventory to sell. Indeed during the 2011 season
at
Riverhead Raceway many cars in all divisions had "for sale"
signs on them
and many of those are expected on December 3rd and it will
indeed be a
buyers market!
To enter the Long island Automotive Swap Shop is just $5 for
shoppers,
while a $20 fee is charged to vendors per vending spot and if
you've been
looking to break into racing with a car at a bargain price this
event is
right up your alley.
Drag racers are of course most welcome to join in on the buying
and
selling December 3rd and Finan eluded to the fact there is a big
crossover
between the straight liners and stock car crowd especially in
the area of
enclosed trailers, generators, tools and other race related
equipment that
can certainly crossover the two forms of racing. The 100 Foot
Drags that
were introduced in 2011 at Riverhead Raceway will return in 2012
and will
be in both the buying and selling market!
Over the past two decades the collectible and memorabilia
markets have
continued to grow and the Long Island Automotive Swap Shop could
very well
be a place to either sell or buy such items. "Indeed we are
hoping to see
the collectible and memorabilia dealers turn out." Heck, it's
three weeks
before Christmas and you might actually be able to cross a gift
or two off
your list" Finan suggested.
The Long Island Automotive Swap Shop will start at 10:00 am
Saturday
December 3rd at Riverhead Raceway. In the event of rain the swap
shop
would be staged Sunday December 4th at 10:00 am. No reservations
are
required or being taking for Vendors.
