Jimmy Spencer to
Appear at Motorsports 2012
Talented, controversial, popular and
outspoken all describe former NASCAR racer Jimmy Spencer.
Now a popular member of the SPEED Channel broadcast team the man
once known as “Mr. Excitement” when he was racing in NASCAR
modified events (twice a champion on that circuit) will be part
of the Motorsports 2012 Presented by VP’s SEF Small Engine Fuels
Race Car and Trade Show set for January 20 through January 22nd
at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
Jimmy Spencer is one of the few drivers to have won a race in
all three of NASCAR’s top series: Sprint Cup, the Nationwide
Series, and the Camping World Truck Series.
The 54-year-old was the winner of two NASCAR Sprint Cup races
during this career, both coming in 1994 when he was driving for
the legendary Junior Johnson. His wins came in the Pepsi 400 at
Daytona International Speedway and the DieHard 500 at Talladega
Superspeedway.
Spencer loves to talk about the good old days of racing and is
always willing to offer his opinion on current trends in the
sport. His segments on SPEED’s NASCAR Race Hub are very popular
with fans.
He may be best known for his altercation with Kurt Busch that
got him penalized by NASCAR. That incident has been brought up
more often in recent days because of Kurt’s current problems
with NASCAR and this departure from Penske Racing.
The former Berwick, PA resident is sure to be a big attraction
at the Motorsports 2012 show. He will be greeting fans, talking
about racing, and signing autographs on Friday, January 20th.
Spencer will do a question and answer session with fans from
4:00 - 4:30 p.m. followed by a 90 minute autograph session. Fans
can expect expect to get straight forward answers to any
question they may ask of Spencer.
Young ladies are also reminded that there is still time to
register to be part of the annual BPG Racing Ms. Motorsports
Pageant set for Saturday, January 21st. The winner walks off
with $1,500 and other perks plus opportunities for personal
appearances representing the Motorsports show.
The three day show, January 20-22nd, covers all of the space
available in the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks and
gives attendees the opportunity to see just about anything and
everything imaginable in motorsports.
