Biggest 2011 Northeast
Winners Will Sign at Motorsports 2012
OAKS, PA December 29, 2011. . . ‘The
Best of the Best’ - the most prolific winners in northeastern
auto racing from 2011 - are coming to the Motorsports 2012 Race
Car and Trade Show on Saturday, January 21.
Keith Rocco, Stewart Friesen, Ryan Vanasse, Jessica Miller and
Gene Knaub will be part of Motorsports 2012 Presented by VP’s
SEF Small Engine Fuels Race Car and Trade Show set for January
20 through January 22nd at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center
in Oaks, PA.
The five standout drivers will meet and greet fans and sign a
commemorative poster on Saturday afternoon at the Area Auto
Racing News booth. Then, each will receive formal recognition
with presentation of plaques and cash prizes on Saturday evening
prior to the Ms. Motorsports pageant.
The three day show, January 20-21-22, covers all of the space
available in the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks and
gives attendees the opportunity to see just about anything and
everything imaginable in motorsports.
Keith Rocco, Wallingford, Ct., is the 2011 winningest asphalt
Modified driver and, with 32 feature wins in 2011, the biggest
winner overall. He will receive $200, as will the four other
class winners, and a special $500 bonus plus a painting for most
overall wins.
Stewart Friesen, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., led all dirt
Modified drivers in 2011 with 22 wins including his second
straight Super Dirt Series win at Syracuse.
Gene Knaub, Mechanicsburg, Pa., won 19 dirt Late Model features
en route to a pair of championships at Williams Grove and
Lincoln Speedways to lead all other drivers in this class. Knaub
also was the winningest dirt Late Model driver in 2010.
Jessica Miller, Sunbury, Pa., won 20 Micro Sprint features to
lead all other drivers in that category. Jessica also became the
first female division winner since Area Auto News began
compiling these records.
Ryan Vanasse, East Providence, R.I., topped the charts among
asphalt Late Model drivers by winning eleven times, each of them
at Seekonk, Ma., Speedway.
Daryn Pittman, Indianapolis, winner of 14 open cockpit races to
lead all other drivers in that category, is racing in Australia
over the weekend of January 21-22 and will be unable to attend
the signing and presentation ceremony.
Area Auto Racing News, a nationally distributed motorsports
trade publication, will begin its 50th consecutive year of
publication on January 3, 2012. The Trenton, NJ based
publication will have limited run 50th Year commemorative
t-shirts available at the booth when the ‘Best Of The Best’ are
signing autographs and throughout the three days of the show.
A special deal on Area Auto Racing News subscriptions will also
be offered.
Young ladies are reminded that there is still time to register
to be part of the annual BPG Racing Ms. Motorsports Pageant set
for Saturday, January 21st. The winner walks off with $1,500 and
other perks plus opportunities for personal appearances
representing the Motorsports show.
Tim Hogue can provide those interested with all details on the
show and send a complete color brochure that outlines all show
details for those wanting to be exhibitors. There are very few
display spaces available at this late date.
And it is not too late for race teams to be thinking about
having their race car on display at the show. Contact Tim at

The annual show, produced by Len Sammons and his staff, is
considered by many to be the most successful show of its type on
the East Coast.
