DRAKKAR
NOIR PIT CREW COMPETITION...
story by J.A. Ackley
photos by Tom Zwierzewicz
The NYPD and FDNY battled once again,
but this time in the Draakar Noir Pit Crew Competition held at
Macy's in Herald's Square. Tony Eury Sr. and Dale Earnhardt
Jr. were on hand to make sure that pit stops were done correctly as
well as to watch the fun event.
In
the end, the NYPD would beat the FDNY time and time again with a
27.89 vs. 37.85 time in the first round and a 27.11 vs. 27.42
the second round. And additional challenge was made to the
NYPD to see if they could come within 10 seconds of the DEI pit
crew. DEI pulled off a 19.22 stop and the NYPD would come
through with a 25.28 stop. All in all it was a good event for
charity, with Draakar Noir donating $25,000 to the Widow's &
Childen's Benefit Fund.
