Al Ermmarino lands major sponsorship for year 2000
campaign
(Brookhaven, NY) – Al Ermmarino and his Spirit 9a Race
team are proud to announce the signing of Smithtown Volkswagen as a major
sponsor for the 2000 season. Smithtown Volkswagen is located at 530

Ermmarino the veteran, who has been racing at Riverhead
in one form or another since 1983, feels very confident he can make a
legitimate run for the 2000 Modified Championship. Al has been driving
Modifieds at Riverhead and throughout the northeast since 1991, winning a
feature event every year except 1997.
Many changes have taken place over the winter, which will
strengthen Al’s chances of seeking the Riverhead Crown. They have
just completed a new car built by John Meade; it will have a Plymouth Laser
body, and a Jack Merkel power plant. They also have last
year’s car updated and ready to go. George Meade will be back as
crew chief, as the rest of the team stays intact for the coming year.
Al would like to thank the sponsors for making all this
possible. Crystal Falls Landscapes, Meade’s Welding and
Fabricating, and Padock Auto Body will all be back for the 2000 campaign.
