Dan  D. Racing  Announces  New Owner
of the #63 Charger Division Monte Carlo

As you all know, racing at Riverhead Raceway in the Charger Division was not what I thought it would be, so after 11 of the 18 races for the year, I hung up my helmet. The Idea that someone could benefit from me raffling my car off, was an idea that I felt would give someone a chance to experience ownership of a stock car and possibly the thrill they have been yearning for.
Financially when you are your own sponsor, it does not matter what you spend  because you are doing it for the love of the sport ,and you can not look at the stock car  and equipment as a profitable project. So when I decided to start a raffle, I knew that I would not come even close to value of the stock car, never mind the countless hours  spent with only 20 minutes of sleep some nights.
After Tom Baldwin's untimely death, I thought that another way for other people (Children with Cancer) to benefit from the raffle of my car was to donate, in Tom Baldwin's name, to Victory Junction Gang 10% of the raffle proceeds.
By all means, I am no 'Rockafella', but as I get older, I realized that money is a small piece of this thing called life. To think that just 4 days before Tom Baldwin's death, I was with my arm around Tom Baldwin Jr. at Watkins Glenn, talking about his Dad and that he would do alright at Thompson that Thursday!  And to Instant Message Walt DeMorris weekly and have him on my buddy list! People wondered, and could not understand, why I was raffling my car off with such a loosing proposition.
I am proud to announce that Debbie Flemming (Ken Heagy’s wife Modified #33) was the lucky winner of my #63 Charger. I dropped the car off at Ken’s shop within 30 minutes of  the picking of the winning raffle ticket. I do not know what their/ her intentions are for next season with the #63 .
I, which I saved for last, also would like to thank ALL that made this possible. First  everyone that bought a raffle ticket from me, Tom Walkoniak bought the most tickets  followed by others closely. (Debbie only bought one ticket!) I would like to thank others that gave their time and efforts to helping me with this raffle, namely; LONGISLANDJAM.COM (the best damn racing web site in the country!!) and to Vinny Marshall, his wife Tammy and their 2 sons Little Vinny (walked around with posters on him advertising the raffle) and Eddie who helped as well. I truly have a family of friends  and acquaintances from Riverhead Raceway (the only oval stock car track on Long Island). Again, thanks to all that believed in me and my raffle. I will be making out a check to Victory Junction Gang for $200.00, which is, give or take a few bucks, from what I received.(aprox.10%)

                                                       Thanks,  Dan Dombal
