SPEED RACING RADIO MOVING...
This Monday night (October 16th) will be the last week
that Speed Racing Radio will air on WGBB.
Due to the station broadcast signal’s inability to reach far into
Suffolk County, and Speed Racing Radio being unable to reach the target
audience of the Long Island Racing community, they have decided to move the
show to WLUX 540 AM. This
change will be effective on Monday 10/30/2000.
After this coming Monday
nights live broadcast from The Noisy Oyster, Speed Racing Radio will take
one week off to do some pre-production work before starting our next show
from WLUX on the 30th. Speed
Racing Radio will have a new time, running from 9:30 - 10:00PM.
For the first two months (approx.) at the new home, we will NOT be
simulcast over the Internet. WLUX
will shortly be moving from their current Farmingdale location to a new home
in Deer Park. The station is
expected to be able to provide Live Streaming Audio over the Internet
shortly after the move is completed.
Reducing
the broadcast time from one hour to only 30 minutes will see us focusing
mainly on local issues to Long Island, and perhaps Connecticut.
When the racing action once again fires back up in the spring, Speed
Racing Radio may opt to go back to one hour if WLUX’s schedule allows.
