STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. (May 27, 2005) The Haynes Materials 150 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford Motor Speedway has been postponed because of inclement weather. The event has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 3.

Bud Pole qualifying for the event was completed before the rains came. Donny Lia of Jericho, N.Y. set fast time tripping the clock at 18.251 seconds for an average speed of 98.625 mph. Defending series champion Tony Hirschman of Northampton, Pa. was second fastest with a speed of 98.377 mph. Chuck Hossfeld, Nevin George and Eric Beers rounded out the Top-5 in qualifying.

The Top-8 qualifiers drew for starting position. Beers picked the number one starting spot and will be joined on the front row by Mike Christopher who qualified 6^th. George will start third and Hirschman fourth. Lia will start seventh. Current points leader Zack Sylvester will start 16^th.

The next event for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is at the Riverhead Raceway on June 4^th.
