Wall Stadium Hosts Swap Meet

With the start of the 2013 championship stock car racing season just a month away Wall Stadium will host an auto racers’ “Swap Meet” this Saturday (March 30). Gates to the paved pit area will open at 9:00 a.m. so that vendors can set up their items. The “Swap Meet” will then be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Vendor spots are still available at just $10 each.

In addition to finding bargains as they prepare for the 2013 campaign, racers will also be able to obtain racing tires for the start of the season. Also open during the “Swap Meet” hours will be the speedway’s refreshment stand with food and beverage items.

The speedway office will also be open on Saturday so that racers and crew members can get an early start on their paperwork for the 2013 campaign. Along with competitor licenses, season tickets and gift cards, pit area parking spots will also be available in the speedway office on Saturday.

The first on track event of the 2013 campaign is set for Saturday, April 13, as the third mile high banked paved oval hosts the first of two practice events. The second practice is set for the following Saturday, April 20. While there is a fee for use of the track, grandstand admission is free to the public both days.

Once the test sessions are complete, the 2013 championship season will get underway on Saturday night, April 27. An on track party in appreciation of the fans, where cars and competitors from all six of the speedway’s racing divisions will be parked on the track as the fans are welcome to walk the speedway and inspect the cars, will kick off opening night activities. Once the track is cleared from the festivities the Modifieds, Sportsman, Factory Stock, 4 Cylinder, Legend Cars and Limited Late Model divisions will all compete in qualifying events, as needed then main events.

Once the season opener is in the books, action will continue every Saturday night through the end of September with competition also scheduled for select Sundays during the summer months. The season will then conclude with the “Spooky Spectacular” in October and the traditional “Turkey Derby” on Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
