Unique Golf Returns as Trophy Sponsor

Unique Golf of Babylon Village has returned to Riverhead Raceway as the
victory lane trophy sponsor for the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series
it was announced on opening night as Barbara & Jim Cromarty ushered in a new
race season. The track will run weekly from now until Saturday September
28th presenting a great combination of stock car racing and family
entertainment events for all to enjoy.

“On the nights where there is not a trophy from either Riverhead Raceway or
one of its many marketing partners Jim Wichert of Unique Golf has graciously
agreed to sponsor the victory lane trophies once again this year” Bob Finan
disclosed in making the announcement. Unique Golf, voted Long Island’s Best
Golf Shop for the third year in a row by the Long Island Press and its
readers, is located in the scenic Village of Babylon.

Aside from his involvement with the trophies Jim Wichert is also an avid
racer himself as he owns the Late Model of Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead,
who won on opening night earning a Unique Golf trophy, while Jim also
competes in the 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro class at the track. Wichert has
also sold a complete set of laps for the August 17th 50-lap Late Model race
on the Wall of Fame night and has already sold half of a second set making
that race a very lucrative one.

The 2013 NASCAR Whelen All American Series will continue this Saturday May
18th at Riverhead Raceway with the Figure Eight class stepping into the
spotlight as they run the annual Cromarty Cup 20 in honor of promoter
Barbara Cromarty’s birthday. Ken Hyde Jr. of Medford is the defending race
winner. In addition to the Figure 8’s all races from the rained out May 11th
show will be running with the Twin 30 NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models,
Chargers, Blunderbusts, Super Pro Trucks and Legend Race Cars. Feature event
racing will be at 5:30 pm.
