Riverhead to Host Two Pre-Season Safety Inspection Days
Riverhead Raceway co-chief stewards Mike Cappiello and Steve Tooker disclosed the two dates for pre-season safety inspection which will take place Saturday April 5th & April 12th. Walter Bonzcyk and his staff of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series inspectors will be in the pit area of the track starting at 9:00 am both days and conduct inspections until 3:00 pm with a modest $5 per person admission charge.
All competitors should keep in mind that NO car will be able to take part in the pre-season practice days without first going through and passing the safety inspections. Aside from the race cars Bonzcyk and staff will also require drivers to bring their personal safety gear including helmets, fire suits and restraint systems that are required. The two inspection days are for all the NASACR, INEX and Enduro racecars that will compete at the quarter mile facility in 2014. Bonzcyk will also have information concerning the new Crate Engine options for teams.
If owners and drivers are not ready for the April 5th & 12th inspections they are reminded that prior to the two pre-season practice days on April 19th & 26th that the pits will open at 9:00 am both days and the safety inspection will commence some three hours prior to the start of practice.
