New Challenge in 2016 for Slepian
Last year was a year to remember for Dylan Slepian. On May 23rd Slepian grabbed his first career win in the Legends division. His success only escalated from there as he went on to capture five more wins to secure himself as the 2015 Legends Champion.
In 2016 Slepian will take on a new division as Riverhead Raceway is opening the Crate Modified division to racers for the 2016 season. “I’m optimistic about moving up into the Crate Mod overall,” Slepian said, “I’ve had some practice in a tour mod and a late model before and I’ve been lucky enough to work close with Kenny Darch and his modified all last season so I feel comfortable setting the car up and having help from him in that area.”
Slepian said that the biggest challenge he faces is racing in a full-sized car. The Legend car is about half the size of a Modified and learning to adjust to the rough racing that comes in the Modified division is only adjustment he needs to make.
Now the Crate Modified won’t be the only division you will see Dylan Slepian. He plans on defending his Legend car championship driving the No.0 for Bill and Steve Smith. “Those guys are really committed to being competitive at Riverhead and racing at multiple tracks throughout the season,” said Slepian.
Slepian would like to thank the Latour’s and the Darch family as well as his parents for helping him with the Crate Modified as well as the Smith’s and the Soper’s.
