Riverhead Hosting Tech Inspection Days April 9th & 16th
Riverhead Raceway officials announced today the two dates for the annual Technical Inspection days leading up to the 2016 race season at the historic quarter mile facility. Saturday April 9th and April 16th teams from both the NASCAR Whelen All American Series and Enduro ranks can have their cars inspected in the pit area of the track. Inspections will take place from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm both days.
Riverhead Raceway GM John Ellwood and the track’s Technical Inspection staff will be on hand to perform safety inspections which teams must go through and pass before being permitted to hit the track on April 23rd and 30th for the pre-season practice days. Teams are asked to bring complete race cars only and drivers should present all their safety equipment they will wear to the inspectors.
A modest $5 admission fee will be charged to enter the Technical Inspection days at Riverhead Raceway with a maximum of $30 being charged per team. Teams are encouraged to have their cars on hand for either the April 9th or 16th dates so they can report directly to the track on the practice days.
The 2016 Riverhead Raceway season will open up for the Enduro race teams with the May Meltdown Sunday afternoon May 1st while the NASCAR season will start on Grand Opening Night Saturday May 7th. A huge Fireworks spectacular is planned for the May 7th program to usher in the Eddie & Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz era at the Route 58 oval.
