Fanfare: The Schlenker Family
This week’s Fanfare is with Bill Schlenker and his twin sons, Hunter and Harrison. Harrison, seven is an Angela’s House child.
For those unfamiliar with Angela’s House, it is a non-profit organization started by Bob Policastro for terminally ill children. The houses have live-in doctors and medical equipment so that the children can live at the house and be taken care of while their parents work. Darren and Arthur Krantz and their Krantz Motorsports race team have teamed up with Angela’s House to bring awareness to the organization.
It is through Angela’s House that the Schlenkers became interested in racing.
“We went to a Christmas party,” said Bill Schlenker. “Both Chad (Churilla) and Dave (Roys) were there with their cars. Harrison got to sit in them and it was pretty cool. They enjoyed it.”
Harrison has already decided which car is his favorite. He said he likes Churilla’s no. 20 Charger car.
